We are located in Prahran Central. Parking is available at a minimal cost through the clinic. Prahran Market Clinic is a well-established and respected practice looking for a practice manager with good communication skills and good business skills to maintain good relationships with health professionals and staff alike. The ideal candidate will be a leader who can focus on the daily detail as well as keeping an eye on the future direction of the clinic. The clinic has a part-time administration person, and a book-keeper to support the manager.

We are located in Pran Central. Parking is available at a minimal cost through the clinic. The role is a full-time position and most the work hours are expected to be during the clinic’s operating hours.

There is the potential for a practice manager who can facilitate all the business planning and responsibility for keeping a close eye on profitability and KPIs for the clinic. The practice manager also needs to be able to lead the administration staff effectively and continue to motivate them. They will also manage all the non-clinical aspects of the health professionals who work from the clinic.

 

Skills and experience

Key responsibilities- Practice Manager

  • Staff management, overseeing rostering, staffing ratios, leave cover, recruitment, contracts, reviews
  • Managing health professionals (daily issues, contracts, hours) and liaison with any other parties
  • Maintain and ensure a high level of service as well as continuous improvement of standards.
  • Motivate and lead team and maintain a good liaison between different people at the clinic.
  • Have an understanding of general practice- including accreditation, compliance, Medicare, eHealth, PIP
  • Have an understanding of business issues- like staffing, costs, book-keeping and reporting for financial matters
  • Running meetings for staff and others, planning and organizing staff reviews
  • Managing any complaints and following processes to resolve these complaints
  • Being available for daily trouble-shooting

Essential

  • Experience in General Practice management is important
  • Membership of AAPM is preferred
  • Good computer skills
  • Good people management skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Understanding of business skills – book-keeping, financial reporting
  • The ability to develop and communicate processes
  • Understanding of LGBTI issues
  • Be passionate about health care
  • Understanding of Xero or similar book-keeping package
  • Facilitate preparation of business plans and business reports
  • Facilitate prepare of financial reports and advice on business decisions
  • Advise and discuss marketing strategies
  • Manage ongoing liabilities of the clinic.
