Rumbalara Aboriginal Co-operative (RAC) is a community-controlled organisation that offers a range of health and community services to the Greater Shepparton community. RAC is the largest provider of services in the Greater Shepparton area, and one of the largest providers of services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in Victoria. The organisation employs approximately 200 people and has a budget of nearly $20 million.

 

The Medical Clinic is one of the key components of RAC, seeking to ensure the well-being of the Rumbalara Community and managed on a philosophy that timely and quality Medical and ancillary services are provided from the practice location in Mooroopna.  The Practice Manager leads a multidisciplinary team and works collaboratively with other health services programs, including Dental, Chronic care and Australian Nurse Family Partnership Program.  This role has a strong focus on: financial sustainability, risk management, policy development, accreditation, clinical governance, systems development and service coordination / integration. The Practice Manager is part of the management team and contributes to the strategic development and leadership of the broader organisation.  

 

To meet the requirements of the role you will demonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to, Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture; have an understanding of general practice (Aboriginal Health) and have management experience in a small business, ideally general practice management. You will need to be able to demonstrate strong and effective leadership abilities, organisational and interpersonal skills and experience in both human resource and financial management.
