Practice Manager - Wollongong NSW

Position summary:

Long term PM is retiring after 17 years with our practice, leaving an empty space for someone who would love to take over and look after our modern single specialist practice in obstetrics, gynaecology and reproductive medicine.  You would be looking after the doctor and his staff of two receptionists and two midwives, planning and organising the activities of the practice to ensure that our customers receive the best possible care.

FT or PT (30-38/wk) - Hours negotiable for the right candidate 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Nurturing your team to deliver excellent and sustainable customer service, monitor customer satisfaction and manage feedback, ensuring privacy and confidentiality
  • Financial management of the practice in consultation with the accountant 
  • Strategic planning and risk management
  • Supervision of service and maintenance of practice equipment and stock control
  • Maintaining policy and procedures to remain compliant to regulations and legislation
  • Human resource management
  • Assisting receptionist on duty during consultation sessions
  • Diary management for the Principal
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance and grow the practice

 

 

 

Essential Personal Criteria

  • A self-motivated leader who has the skill to foster a productive and respectful team culture and manage the practice in an organised, but approachable and flexible manner
  • The ability to remain calm in challenging situations
  • Prior experience in Human Resources
  • An analytical eye for detail
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office 365 applications and Quickbooks Intuit or similar
  • Proficient in MBS and a sound knowledge of Private Health Fund billing
  • Understanding of employment law, fair work legislation and relevant awards

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Cert IV, Diploma or higher in a relevant field such as heath, health services management, business administration, practice management
  • An understanding of medical terminology
  • The ability to type at least 50wpm
  • Prior work experience with Financial Management
  • The ability to identify and market to potential customer base and co-ordinate GP information and education sessions
  • A background in nursing
