PRACTICE MANAGER

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and innovative Practice Manager to join our busy rural general practice. The position is full-time Monday to Friday. Located in the picturesque town of Forbes on the Lachlan River, the Forbes Medical Centre is a vibrant practice providing a range of medical and specialist services to the local community. We are also a teaching practice of the University of Wollongong. The Forbes Medical Centre has a large team of doctors, nurses and administrative staff who are committed to providing high quality medical care and customer service.

Reporting to the Principals, the Practice Manager will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing all day to day operational aspects of the practice
  • Human resource management including recruitment and induction of staff and direct management of a large team including Registrars, Nurses and administrative staff
  • GP Registrar and medical student administration
  • Administration of a range of practice meetings and educational events
  • Clinical software management (Medical Director)
  • Clinical and non-Clinical quality improvement activities (Pencat)
  • Accounts payable and payroll (Xero)
  • All aspects of Accreditation (RACGP 5th Edition) including policy and procedure review and implementation
  • Managing the practice IT systems
     

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience in successfully managing a dynamic business
  • Demonstrated experience in human resource management including directly managing teams and leading people
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and customer service skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills including the ability to prioritise and delegate tasks appropriately and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Decision making competence, initiative, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience working in a highly confidential environment and knowledge of relevant privacy and records management legislation
  • Experience in developing, monitoring and reviewing systems for operational efficiency and productivity and successfully implementing change programs
  • Strong computer literacy and IT skills including Xero for accounts and payroll

 

Desirable

 

  • Relevant business and/or human resource management tertiary qualifications
