The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) has released the draft of the RACGP Standards for general practice residential aged care (1st edition) (Standards for GPRAC) for public consultation. The RACGP has developed the Standards for GPRAC as a way to address the gaps between the Aged Care Quality Standards (1 July 2019) and the RACGP Standards for general practices (5th edition) . The Standards for GPRAC are voluntary and do not seek to replace existing requirements for accreditation against the Aged Care Quality Standards. The draft has been developed by the RACGP working group – Standards for general practice residential aged care and the RACGP Expert Committee – Standards for General Practices and has been informed by: Available national and international evidence Comparable national and international standards. The consultation phase will run from Tuesday 8 October 2019 and will conclude on Tuesday 5 November 2019 . The RACGP welcomes feedback from members and stakeholders.
