MBS: Minor changes to MBS sleep study items

From 1 November 2019, there will be a number of minor changes to some MBS items for sleep studies.

From 1 November 2019, there will be a number of minor changes to some MBS items for sleep studies.These changes are summarised below:

  • Item 12205 – The intent of the associated MBS Explanatory Note for this item will be reflected in the item descriptor itself.
  • Item 12207 – The term ‘cardio-respiratory failure’ will be changed to ‘respiratory failure’.

A factsheet on these MBS changes, including the updated item descriptors and Explanatory Notes are attached below. 

This information will soon be published on the ‘Factsheets’ tab on the MBS online website.
