2022 AAPM Practice Manager of the Year

The AAPM Practice Manager of the Year award recognises and rewards a Practice Manager for their outstanding contributions to leadership, the profession, professional development and their team.

The nominee must meet each of the following criteria:

Currently employed as a Practice Manager or equivalent in the health care industry.
Currently holds or is studying a qualification in Practice Management or Business Management.
Must be a current financial member of AAPM, or the nominated contact of a Practice membership.
Must uphold the AAPM Code of Conduct and embrace its ethos.

Please note:

AAPM State Committee Members who meet the above criteria are eligible to apply.
AAPM Directors, Practice Manager of the Year selection panel members over the past two years, Associate Members and AAPM Corporate Members are not eligible to apply.

All applications must be received by 5:00pm AEST on Friday 26 August 2022, late entries will not be accepted. APPLICATION DATE EXTENDED.

Key Selection Criteria
Please respond to each of the key selection criteria below by providing evidence or examples relevant to your work in Practice Management. As a guide, your response to each criterion should be approximately 200 words in length.

Responses should be included below, but you can include supporting documentation as an attachment with your application (if required)
1. Leadership Skills: How have you maintained the vision, values, culture, objectives or standards for the Practice? What have you done to build a cooperative, supportive and highly successful team? Please provide examples of how the nominee has demonstrated outstanding leadership and team building skills within Practice Management.
2. Education and raising the profile of the profession: Detail your commitment to ongoing education in Practice Management and to raising the profile of Practice Management. How have you demonstrated a commitment to ongoing professional development (of yourself and of others)? What have you done to raise the profile of Practice Management in the broader community?
3. Business Planning: What special contributions have you made to planning meetings, formal documentation and/or innovative ideas for the business?
4. Financial Management: How have you developed effective financial processes, enhanced compliance (with GST/BAS etc) or increased the profitability of the practice?
5. Implementation of systems to support quality care in a clinical setting: Detail the contributions have you made to ensuring the workplace is both safe and compliant with current regulations.
6. Knowledge of relevant legislation: Describe how you have contributed to keeping the practice up-to-date with relevant legislative changes.
7. Occupational Health and Safety: What contributions have you made to ensuring the workplace is both safe and compliant with regulations?
8. Communication Skills: Detail how you have demonstrated excellence in communication skills, both verbal and written. Provide specific examples of your particular strengths in relation to verbal or written communication.
