We are pleased to let you know that DVA clients can now add their digital Veteran Card to the myGov app wallet.
They can do this quickly and easily if they have:
a valid Veteran White or Veteran Gold card
a DVA MyService account linked to their myGov account
the myGov app installed on a smart phone or other device
The myGov wallet is a feature of the myGov app that allows people to securely store some government digital cards and certificates; the wallet feature isn’t available through the myGov website.
The digital Veteran Card is an online version of the physical card. Adding it to the myGov wallet gives DVA clients another way to access and use their card. They can use the Veteran Card in the myGov wallet the same way they use their physical card.
Greater protection against fraud and theft
Items in the myGov wallet have security features in place to protect against fraud and theft. These include:
a QR code unique to the myGov app to check the card is valid. This can be scanned using the QR code scanner in the myGov app.
a security hologram to show that the card is a genuine item and not a screenshot.
We encourage third parties and service providers to accept items in the myGov wallet and to use the security features to check they are genuine and valid. For more information go to Using QR codes in the myGov app | myGov
How you can be involved:
Please share this information with your stakeholders to raise awareness of this new digital Veteran Card option. Encourage third parties and service providers who offer services and concessions to veterans to accept digital Veteran Cards.
