Update on novel coronavirus in Australia

Novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) infection has been identified in patients with fever and respiratory symptoms who have recently travelled to China, in particular the city of Wuhan and surrounds. 

As of 2 February 2020, 12 cases of 2019-nCoV have been confirmed in Australia: 4 in New South Wales, 4 in Victoria, 2 in South Australia, and 2 in Queensland.  

To learn more about the current situation, the Department of Health Chief Medical Officer, Brendan Murphy, has provided an analysis of the situation so far. View update from Chief Medical Officer.  

The Department of Health has also provided Information Sheets for Emergency, Primary and Community Workers to manage patients that may be affected.
