Australian Commission on Safety & Quality in Healthcare announces resumption of accreditation assessments for general practices

The Australian Commission on Safety & Quality in Healthcare has announced that resumption of onsite assessments against the RACGP Standards for General Practices will take place from 26 October 2020. As part of the re-starting of accreditation activities, the Commission has indicated that all general practices will have an additional 12 months added to their current certificate expiration date.

The Commission advises that criteria will be applied to determine which practices should be assessed first and which will be scheduled for subsequent rounds, with the criteria being based on assessment of risk.

On-site assessments will only occur in settings where there is a low risk of COVID-19 transmission.

More information, including a set of Frequently Asked Questions is available at the Commission’s website.
