Call for Submissions: ATO review of effective life of assets used in general practice

As part of an industry-wide review of the assets used in offering general practice medical services, the ATO has released a draft proposal for updating the Commissioner of Taxation’s schedule for effective asset life determinations.

As part of an industry-wide review of the assets used in offering general practice medical services, the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has released a draft proposal for updating the Commissioner of Taxation’s schedule for effective asset life determinations (ANZSIC code 85110, “General practice medical services”). The main purpose of the review is to ensure that the ATO’s effective life determinations appropriately cover assets commonly used in medical practices industry.

AAPM will be making a submission to the Review on behalf of its members and is now seeking member input that will help to inform our submission. The proposed changes are available here, and information about the review more generally is available at the ATO Website.

Member input should be sent to nationaloffice@aapm.org.au before COB on Tuesday 18 February 2020.
