The dental specialists comprising the practice have more than 60 years’ experience between them delivering treatment for periodontal disease, maintenance of periodontal health, and surgical implant treatment. The practice has been in existence for more than 20 years.

About the Role

This role situated in one of Melbourne’s inner eastern suburbs is the conduit between the practice owners and the staff.  The role would suit someone who has managed teams of 15-20 people and most of the HR issues associated with that.  In addition, you’ll need a sound background managing most facets of a business and not being afraid to step in when required.  The role requires someone with sufficient skills to be able to handle low-level maintenance tasks and odd jobs about the practice.

This role is likely to suit someone who has managed their own business or perhaps has a Services background where making sound judgement calls independently has been a feature of their experience.

You would not be expected to know too much about the profession of dentistry but you would be expected to know how and where to source the necessary information. Good communication skills are essential.

 

Duties

Primarily, the duties will require you to ensure the smooth running of the business.  As a consequence, a large part of the role is about

  • managing people, including rostering and ensuring team harmony
  • ensuring a patient-centric response to how the business operates which includes managing the
    • bookkeeping function,
    • response and oversight of out-sourced IT support
    • response to external environmental impacts e.g. regulations associated with either the pandemic or radiation equipment and licences, as examples
