ABOUT THE PRACTICE

My client is a group of GP’s who own and run General Practices on the South Coast of NSW, in and around the Shoalhaven Region.  Due to existing and further growth, the role of Practice Manager has now been split into Business Manager and Operations Manager. The practice is a supportive teaching practice where everyone is given the opportunity to learn and thrive.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an operational management role, undertaking the day-to-day management responsibilities of general practices across multiple sites.  You will be seen as the linchpin of our operations. Principal accountabilities will include staff management and performance, rostering and leave management, rooms planning and utilization, creating and reviewing existing policies and procedures, equipment and property maintenance, public relations and marketing, maintaining equipment serving and registers, insurances, purchasing of consumables, and management and productivity of IT infrastructure.  The Nurse Team Leader and Reception Team Leader will report directly to you, and you will in turn report to the Practice Principals. It is anticipated this role will be full time, but for the right candidate 32 hours is a possibility, with flexibility for these hours to be spread over 4-5 days.

ABOUT YOU

You will ideally be an existing practice manager in general practice or an assistant practice manager, with a minimum of two years’ experience. You will have excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to plan, organize, lead and control a team of professionals undertaking the provision of high-quality clinical care to the patients.  You will have a broad understanding of the requirements and challenges that face a small to medium business.  You will have a thorough understanding of the MBS, relevant HR legislation, well developed IT skills in the windows environment, and exhibit complex problem-solving abilities.  You will understand the importance of managing all stakeholders’ expectations and be committed to further education for yourself and the team you lead.  You will be expected to have achieved Diploma level, or above, in Practice Management, or similar.

IDEAL

Experience in the following platforms, or similar, is expected; Best Practice, Top Bar, Practice Hub, Xero, Deputy and Office365.

REMUNERATION

Remuneration will be based on the skill set you bring to the practice.  Although this role is a senior management role, with medical practice experience essential, mentorship is available for the right candidate.
