Northern Queensland Primary Health Network (NQPHN) is one of 31 regionalised and independent PHNs established nationally by the Commonwealth Department of Health to provide local communities with better access to improved primary healthcare services.

The NQPHN region extends from Moranbah in the south, up to the Torres Strait in the north, and west to Croydon and Kowanyama.

NQPHN aims to improve health outcomes for all residents by supporting, investing in, and working collaboratively with local Hospital and Health Services, the primary healthcare sector, local government areas (LGAs), other health organisations, and the wider community.

Primary care engagement

NQPHN is committed to improving health outcomes for the North Queensland community. As part of this commitment, we aim to collaborate and engage with our local primary healthcare providers to optimise data utilisation, continuous quality improvement processes, digital adoption, and meaningful use to facilitate improved health outcomes for our residents in North Queensland. 

An exciting opportunity exists for two motivated and passionate candidates who wish to make a positive difference in the primary healthcare community by contributing to our provider engagement and workforce development programs. NQPHN has Senior Primary Care Engagement Officer and Primary Care Engagement Officer roles available for candidates with experience in the primary care sector, health workforce, and/or quality improvements. These roles will work to build the workforce capacity and capability of GPs and other primary care professionals and their teams. The positions are available in Cairns, Townsville and Mackay.
