CUNNINGHAME ARM MEDICAL CENTRE (CAMC) is seeking an experienced and motivated Practice Manager to lead our doctors, nurses, and administration staff in the continued provision of high-quality medical care to the community of East Gippsland.

The practice provides the full scope of care to the local rural community and visitors to the region.  This includes general medical care, emergency care, women’s health services, management of chronic illness, immunisations, procedural care, skin care, wound care and preventative medicine.

We also provide palliative care services and Nursing Home services.
The practice’s main clinic is in Lakes Entrance, with a branch practice in Bairnsdale.

 

Tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leading the delivery of clinical, administrative, financial and education services at CAMC.
  • Ensuring the practice operates effectively and efficiently.
  • Overseeing medical practice management, business development and strategic planning.
  • Overseeing operational systems related to all practice activities.
  • Managing all aspects of human resources, including hiring, training, promoting staff professional development, overseeing rosters, conflict resolution, and ensuring regular performance appraisals.
  • Managing staff & clinical team meetings, driving new initiatives, and motivating and leading staff.
  • Overseeing all aspects of financial management, including billings, debt recovery and financial planning.
  • Ensuring requests from statutory authorities and other external parties to provide reports or copies of the medical record are dealt with efficiently.
  • Leading and participate in Practice Accreditation process.
  • Managing social media and website communications.
  • Supporting Registrars, Interns, and students in the practice.  
  • Liaise as required with external service providers, such as suppliers, telecoms, IT providers.
  • Managing oversight of PR and marketing.

 

Qualifications and experience

Mandatory

  • Previous high level managerial experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to function as a member of a team.
  • Experience in managing staff including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • High level computer literacy and knowledge of MS Office suite (in particular, Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Payroll and HR experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS).

Desirable

  • Minimum of two years' experience in practice management
  • Knowledge and experience of Medical Director's Clinical and PracSoft software
  • Completion of an accredited medical practice management course.
  • CPR/Triage training and/or experience
  • Experience in management of emergencies, handling complaints, Medicare and other health funds, basic infection control, safe handling & disposal of medical waste.
