Specialist  Medical Practice  Manager

Pivotal, well supported leadership role – requiring business and staff management experience and skills. 

An opportunity has become available for an experienced Practice Manager who is passionate about using their skills to lead the team in this challenging environment with a focus on maintaining and expanding the business.  This is a fast paced, multifaceted roll which requires an ability to think quickly to accommodate an ever-changing environment for a thriving, very busy and expanding, long established Specialist Practice in the Upper north shore/hills district of Sydney.

We are a privately owned well-established specialist medical practice of eight highly respected Gastroenterologists. The practice is dedicated to ensuring our patients, referring doctors and allied specialists receive exceptional, welcoming and compassionate care. We value quality and innovation.

Our office is located in Pennant Hills, with onsite parking, and is minutes to public transport .

The role could be worked with flexible hours over 4-5 days. Remuneration above industry average and dependent on level of experience.

Essential criteria

Previous supervisory role in a specialist practice including proven leadership and teambuilding

  • Use and understanding of Specialist Medical practice software,  eg  Medical Director/Blue Chip

  • Knowledge of relevant and current legislations for Services Australia, Medicare, Fair Work Australia etc

  • Proactive approach to decision making and problem solving –

  • High level of written and verbal communication skills

  • Previous experience of managing staff and liaising with specialists, referring doctors, and patients

  • Business administration qualifications may be an advantage.

Key focus points of the role:

  • Position of trust

  • Oversee administrative areas of the practice/ role efficiencies/ staffing requirements and rostering

  • Oversee and monitor customer services

  • Review policies & procedures and implement and evaluate ongoing changes

  • Provide ongoing plans, coordinate and monitor all aspects of the practice

  • Maintain the highest standard of processes and procedures and look to accommodate future growth in the practice

  • Maintain a positive culture

  • Oversee maintenance of the building and facilities/ liaise with trades for maintenance

  • Maintain contracts with outside contractors   - eg software providers, IT providers
