In the Heart of the Stunning Gippsland Lakes. Sun, Sea, Sailing and Snow Skiing. 2 Hrs to the Alps, 4 hours to Melbourne.  Skiing, fishing, sailing, camping, hiking, Koalas... the ideal getaway. 

Paynesville Medical Centre (PMC) is a mixed billing family friendly medical practice based in beautiful Gippsland Lakes. We are looking for an experienced and full time Practice Manager to assist in the growth and development of our busy practice.   

Paynesville offers a great work and lifestyle balance for those seeking a sea change or an adventure. Based in the heart of East Gippsland, it offers easy access to  the 90 Mile beach, fishing, camping and four wheel driving and is a great place for young families to explore the great outdoors. Paynesville itself is a vibrant community with almost everything the town has to offer but without the hustle and bustle of everyday city life.

PMC is co- owned by its staff, AGPAL  accredited. We offer a friendly, supportive and flexible work environment. With 3.25 FTE equivalent GP's, 3 practice nurses, 3 receptionists.

The population is growing with new families. There are good local schools, a regional hospital and excellent services.     

 

The position requires the following:

Essential requirements

  • The ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Previous experience in General Practice Management or high level administration
  • An understanding of medical terminology, medical and allied health professional organisations and relevant stakeholders
  • The ability to demonstrate and encourage leadership and teamwork
  • Strength in building customer and stakeholder relationships

Desirable requirements

  • Previous experience in the use of medical based practice software, preferably Medical Director.
  • Experience in financial management and  accounting systems..
  • Experience in payroll systems and legislated employment conditions
  • A detailed understanding of the Medicare Benefits Schedule and liaising with Medicare
  • An understanding or experience in general practice accreditation and standards

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage Nursing, Administration team and Medical Staff
  • Coordinate staff employment and rosters including annual leave cover
  • Arrange when necessary, locum cover for clinical staff
  • Liaise with Doctors and Directors of the company
  • Conduct regular staff appraisals
  • Maintain accurate financial records and provide accurate financial reports
  • Coordinate accounts receivable and payable
  • Lead practice risk management and quality improvement processes
  • Liaise with other medical and allied health services in the Gippsland  region on behalf of the practice and assist with developing positive relationships with these services
  • Development and maintenance of suite of practice policies and procedures


 

Remuneration: $79,040 to $98,800 depending on experience, based on a 38 hr FTE, 5 weeks A/L and penalties.
