About the Medical Practice

Belgrave-Hallam Road Medical Centre is an established bulk-billing practice in Narre Warren North. Open 7 days a week, the clinic consists of 6 General Practitioners, 3 practice nurses, dietitian, and podiatrist. We pride ourselves on providing our patients with high quality family medicine. We have a strong patient centred focus and endeavour to go the extra mile for our patients. We aim to foster a supportive work environment, hinged strongly on teamwork, communication and understanding.

 

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, organised, friendly and quality of service focused practice manager to join our team on a full-time basis.

Applicants ideally should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience within general practice and display a commitment to offering our patients a consistently high quality of service.

Tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Ensuring the clinic operates effectively and efficiently within agreed targets and policies, and according to best practice standards.
  • Medical practice management and business development
  • Running staff & clinical team meetings, driving new initiatives and motivating and leading staff
  • All aspects of human resources, including hiring, training and developing team members.
  • Staff management, overseeing rosters, conflict resolution, performance appraisals.
  • Managing accounts and recovering of debt.
  • Liaising with Workcover organisations to ensure the smooth processing and completion of requests and reports.
  • Leading and participating in GPA Accreditation process
  • Managing social media and website communications
  • Supporting GP Registrars participating in EVGPT program
  • Regular liaison with external service providers, such as suppliers, telecoms, IT providers.
  • PR and marketing.

 

Qualifications and experience

  • High level computer literacy and knowledge of MS Office suite (in particular Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Payroll experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS)
  • Minimum of two years' experience in practice management
  • High level knowledge and experience of Medical Director's Clinical and PracSoft software (Desired)
  • Completion of an accredited medical practice management course (Desired)
  • CPR/Triage training and/or experience
  • Experience in management of emergencies, handling complaints, Medicare and other health funds, basic infection control, safe handling & disposal of medical waste.
  • Experience managing staff including hiring, training and performance management.
  • Knowledge of 5th RACGP Standards and Accreditation Requirements.
