Practice Manager Broome W.A.

Kimberley Medical Group (KMG) is a mixed billing family friendly medical practice based in beautiful Broome W.A. We are looking for an experienced and full time Practice Manager to assist in the growth and development of our busy practice.

KMG is 100% GP owned, AGPAL and WAGPET accredited. We offer a friendly, supportive and flexible work environment. With 5.5 FTE equivalent GP's and a co located GP Respiratory Clinic.

Our practice is located across three neighbouring renovated Broome style bungalow located 10 minutes from anywhere in Broome, so we can always guarantee you a short work commute and easy access to the world famous Cable Beach to enjoy the sunset after work!        

The position requires the following:

Essential requirements

  • The ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Previous experience in General Practice Management or high level administration
  • An understanding of medical terminology, medical and allied health professional organisations and relevant stakeholders
  • The ability to demonstrate and encourage leadership and teamwork
  • Strength in building customer and stakeholder relationships

Desirable requirements

  • Previous experience in the use of medical based practice software, preferably Best Practice.
  • Experience in financial management, accounting systems and reporting processes in Xero.
  • Experience in payroll systems and legislated employment conditions
  • A detailed understanding of the Medicare Benefits Schedule and liaising with Medicare
  • An understanding or experience in general practice accreditation and standards

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage Nursing and Administration team
  • Coordinate staff employment and rosters including annual leave cover
  • Arrange when necessary, locum cover for clinical staff
  • Liaise with Doctors and Director of the company
  • Conduct regular staff appraisals
  • Maintain accurate financial records and provide accurate financial reports
  • Coordinate accounts receivable and payable
  • Lead practice risk management and quality improvement processes
  • Liaise with other medical and allied health services in Broome and the Kimberley region on behalf of the practice and assist with developing positive relationships with these services
  • Development and maintenance of suite of practice policies and procedures
