We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly organised, self-motivated and professional Practice Manager who can manage the day-to-day operations of our busy, well-established Ophthalmic practice with sites in Hurstville and Miranda.

The successful candidate will enjoy a challenge and is passionate about providing excellent patient care.  This is a full-time position and is suited to a team player, with a positive “can-do” attitude who can continue great practice culture and encourage an excellent work ethic within the team. They should be willing to help at all levels of the business when required, providing leadership by example.

Key duties and responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Responsible for the day to day management and operations of the practice
  • Liaise and co-ordinate between key stakeholders: Principals (2), other Ophthalmologists (4), administrative and clinical staff (14), and patients
  • Manage and oversee expenses and outsourced payroll
  • Reporting of all relevant practice matters to the Principals
  • Represent and promote the practice, and maintain positive and professional engagement with referrers and service providers
  • Recruit and train staff
  • Manage staff rosters
  • Management of the IT and data security, working with IT service providers
  • Assist reception staff when required
  • Financial Management: manage practice budgets, financial reports and transactions
  • Marketing and improving practice systems and operations
  • Creating an inclusive and positive culture focused on exceptional patient care

 

Essential skills and experience

  • Previous practice management or professional services office management experience
  • Superior staff management skills
  • Cert IV or Diploma in Practice Management or equivalent desirable
  • Thorough knowledge of private billing, Medicare, Workcover, DVA and Health funds
  • Knowledge of Genie is an advantage.
  • Excellent time-management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritise.
  • Ongoing training and performance management of our clinical and administration staff
  • Preparing rosters for all staff and managing staff hours
  • Implementing new and refining older procedures to maximise productivity of the practice
  • Manage the practice accounting system and liaise with our bookkeeper for reporting and answering any queries relating to business activities
