The number of members on a State Committee must be a minimum of 4 and a recommended maximum of 13 to be determined by the State Secretary six weeks prior to the AGM of the company.
Welcome to the NSW/ACT Branch section of the AAPM website.
I am delighted to be elected as your State President and look forward to a productive year with a very dedicated group of practice managers serving AAPM NSW. Our branch committee members represent a broad range of health service disciplines across a wide demographic in NSW; their individual expertise will ensure AAPM can produce quality benefits for our NSW members.
We have planned a great education and networking program for 2011 that reaches our remote areas and will cover professional development topics relevant for receptionists, new to the role managers and for the more advanced Practice Manager.
The committee looks forward to meeting as many members as possible throughout 2011 so please make yourself known the next time you attend one of our functions. Please feel free to contact us through nsw@aapm.org.au

Welcome to the QLD Branch section of the AAPM website.
Queensland has an integral history with AAPM, being the state where the association was originally founded. We have a very enthusiastic and hardworking committee who stem from a mixture of specialist and general practices. Our branch is committed to providing quality education and training to its members.
Our educational and networking sessions continue each year with a range of workshops planned for Brisbane, Toowoomba, Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast and Ipswich and more to be planned during the year. Our annual Staff Development Day offers an invaluable opportunity for all practice staff to address any educational requirements by accrediting bodies, and for personal growth. These events along with our regular networking opportunities allow for Queensland members to gain greater insight into the profession of practice management.
The Diploma of Professional Practice Management provides a valuable way forward for managers and those who would aspire to this position. Offered in individual workshop modules, our Queensland Branch works in collaboration with UNE Partnerships to offer an affordable and achievable qualification that is nationally respected in the Healthcare Industry. This method of delivery has proven to be a popular avenue to study.
Our committee of volunteers meets most months, or teleconferences to accommodate country representatives, and has a strong commitment to continually offer quality education and networking for members.
We encourage your input into your association so please feel free to contact your local branch through qld@aapm.org.au with your suggestions for topics and ideas, that would help you to manage your practice more efficiently and effectively. We look forward to meeting as many members as possible through the year and encourage you to please make yourself known the next time you attend one of our functions.

Welcome to the Victorian Branch section of the AAPM website.
The Victorian Branch Committee are continuing to work towards a strong education and networking program for 2011 and onwards. In September 2011 we undertook a strategy planning day in which we underwent a review of our progress to date and reflected on members needs for the future and have made some preliminary plans for 2012.
Our branch committee volunteers their time and I thank them for their dedication and we are always happy to have any of our members join us on the committee and look forward to hearing from members at vic@aapm.org.au. We look forward to meeting members at our education and networking events in 2011 onwards.

WA STATE PRESIDENT'S REPORT
I would like to wish all WA members a very happy and productive New Year.
I hope that you all had a well deserved rest over the break, and are feeling refreshed and ready for the challenges of practice management.
We have an excellent line up of seminars for you this year. On Friday February 17th we will be covering "Human Resources and Legal Aspects in a Medical Practice". May will deal with financial issues with a seminar called "In the Black and Out of Trouble". Mark your calendar for May 18th for this invaluable workshop. Our annual HR weekend will be held on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th of August. Country members may like to plan a trip to Perth for that weekend. AAPM will be presenting on "Dealing with the Yucky Stuff" which will cover the more difficult issues in HR management. These include Bullying, internet use, disciplinary action and performance management. The second day will be for receptionists. This session poses the question "Are you adding value to the Practice?" November 9th will be about "Keeping your Sanity and Saving Your Staff." Coaching and mentoring skills will be explored, along with staff retention strategies.
Don't forget that you can also register for the E Seminars run by AAPM NSW. This is a very convenient way to fit in training in the comfort of your office. Our calendar of events details the topics for 2012.
If you would like to receive your newsletter in PDF form by email, please let me know.
A big thank you to all those who came to the National Conference in Perth last year. I hope that you enjoyed the meeting and found the seminars informative and useful.
This year's National Conference is in Brisbane on 16th to 20th October.
