
From time to time, the Board may determine to establish a National Taskforce which will focus on specific area that is to meet the needs of our current and future members of AAPM and/or enhance the profile of Practice Managers and practice management in Australia. Often these needs arises from the findings from our annual National Membership Satisfaction Surveys and/or other emerging environmental factors.
The terms of these National Taskforces may vary depending on the scope and outcomes required.
The appointment to these Taskforces are often undertaken by Expression of Interest from current eligible members of AAPM and may also entail inviting external experts who may bring added value to the group in order to achieve its overall objectives.
Terms of References are developed for each specific Taskforce which provides clear outline of the scope, objective, roles and responsibilities, timing and outcomes with regular reporting to the Board via the CEO.
AAPM aims to establish a National Indigenous Taskforce responsible for developing a mentoring strategy for Aboriginal Health workers with an interest in Practice Management. The strategy should relate to career opportunities, resources and education.
Download PDF (190kb)AAPM aims to establish a national "Marketing Taskforce' responsible for, but not limited to, identify, collating and developing appropriate marketing strategies that 1) attract and retain members; 2) enhance the profile of AAPM across various sectors; 3) determine appropriate policy and procedures; 3) identify potential revenue opportunities that will enable AAPM to undertake new services and programs and 4) esnure marketing related materials and information caters for the broad section of Practice Managers within the health care sector; 5) identify new pathway opportunities to attract young, aspiring Practice Managers in the future.
The Fellowship Taskforce is formed for the specific purpose of receiving, reviewing applications, (and where required interviewing applicants) and make recommendations to the Board for ratification. The functions of the Fellowship Taskforce are to ensure: 1) Applicants who comply with the Guidelines are eligible to be awarded Fellowship. 2) A Selection Criteria is used to assess Fellowship applications and make written recommendations regarding the success or otherwise of applicants . 3) All applications are assessed with consistency and fairness. 4) The recommendations of Fellowship Taskforce members are impartial, appropriately documented and are publicly defensible. 5) Fellowship Taskforce members are to monitor Fellowship membership numbers and identify and recommend to the Board ways to increase, maintain and strengthen Fellowship within AAPM as part of its overall strategic plan. 6) Deliberations of the Fellowship Taskforce members remain confidential.

AAPM aims to establish a "Practice Manager Journal Taskforce' responsible for, but not limited to, identify, collating and developing current and emerging topic and articles relevant for Practice Managers and those who wish to aspire to become one. It is also responsible for the endorsing, coordinating, publishing and distrubution of to the journal to over 2,000 readerships across Australia and overseas.
